My new lIfe

I began homeschooling this week. I think it is going to be a very rewarding experience for all. We have so much to learn together. Homeschooling seems to be more of a way of life than a project or something to do. Everything, as I am finding out, becomes a learning experience. I will learn more about the kids, how they learn, how incredible a little mind is.

Then you start to think about how much there is to learn. How do we fit it all in. How can we enrich the experience so they can see it and touch it! It's all very good.

Blog

I have been a sad blogger these past months. I am constantly looking into something or other. In the past months I have looked into : Raising chickens, chicks, building a coop, Homeschooling the two younger kids, working with a zero based budget (also attending a class with my husband), countless recipes or us, the dog, other friends, I am considering making dog food for my allergic dog. I search many sewing blogs when I come up with whatever I must sew that day or a day really soon, growing a vegetable garden (we have planted seedlings and dug up the earth to prepare the soil incorporated compost from our compost bin) now I need to find some sort of fencing to keep my wonderful ladies out of my veggie patch!! Volunteering here there and everywhere, playing with the kids, attending lacrosse games and band concerts (few and far between on the concerts). I do have a job outside the home... which sucks up way too much of my time. I go to bible study weekly (love that). I still try to make dinner nightly (when I am home) I can tell you I get excited about all of these things and my wonderful husband!! I could do without the Job but... well that is just not in the cards right now especially if I want to have financial peace someday!! Some-days I think I have lost my mind!!! In a happy way of course! Thanks for listening!!

The sky is falling

In the coming days we will be receiving via US Postal service our chicks. 6 cute and cuddly, fluffy little eggs producers.  I for one am very excited!!  We have been researching, planning, ordering, considering, obtaining permits, etc...  The chicks will be in the house with us for about 6 weeks.  (we are praying for a quick melt), and then out to the back yard, in the soon to be build coop delux!  The coop building makes me nervous, we are not by nature a "handy" family and it will be quite a project.  We have the plans, materials list, but...  well my husband tells me we must wait for the big melt to occur, I am thinking this project might take a few weeks and well chicks do grow rapidly.  I am not quite sure what we are getting our selves into but I am sure it will be an adventure.

Sewing

I like to sew. Started sewing about a year ago when I came up with crazy idea that I should make all of the gifts for friends and family for Christmas....  I had to jump in with both feet, and I have to say it was difficult.  I was in over my head and sinking fast... but I managed to pull it off.  By the time Christmas came I discovered something, I really liked sewing. Really liked it.  Since that time I have been sneaking away to my little basement "sewing room" (its cold down there) to lose myself every so often in some wonderful creation that I made with my own hands.  I am learning new things every day. Sewing blogs are a blast.  What a  great big blogging world it is!  Who knew?

Vomit

Well we have been hit by the inevitable "puke flu" !  At least Gina has, Samantha has scurried off to her room to ride out the storm which is now over....  at least we are hoping it is all over.  Samii was watching Gina when it hit and proceeded to invite our poor wonderful neighbors over to handle the situation.  We are truly blessed to have such people so close by (thank you again for saving us Don and Cheryl)!
I really hate when the bug comes a calling but who doesn't right, 12-24 hours of gut wrenching pain and nausea.. blah...  I would like like to thank you God in advance for sparing the rest of us!

let the fasting commence

21 days of fasting to begin tomorrow.  It is kind of like lent.  I will be giving up cheese ( Lord give me strength) and bread / pasta.  We as a family will be limiting all of our tech time TV, computer, ipad, iphone) to only educational or essential email communication.  So I will not be back until... well 21 days.  Wish us Luck! and Grace!
